Blows (Fol 15v)
System: Interpreting Filippo Vadi
Section: Longsword
Source Text and Image

These are the blows of the two-handed sword, not the mezzo tempo, which remains in the wrist.
I am the rota and I am often turning, I go looking for the deception of the sword.
We are the volante, always crossing, From the knee up we go destroying.
We are the fendenti and we dispute, And we break the teeth with full right.
I am the thrust, dangerous and quick, Great teacher of the other blows.
