Fiore: The Plays of the Longsword on Foot out of Armour
This page is for recording the basic interpretation of Fiore's plays, which form the basis of our Fiore syllabus. For a complete study of every one of Fiore's longsword plays, see Guy's book From Medieval Manuscript to Modern Practice, here: https://guywindsor.net/book/from-medieval-manuscript-to-modern-practice-the-longsword-techniques-of-fiore-dei-liberi/
The longsword section of Fiore dei Liberi's system contains material on guards, blows, and the plays of the sword in both wide play (zogho largo) and constrained play (zogho stretto).
For a complete study of Fiore's longsword plays, see Guy Windsor's book: From Medieval Manuscript to Modern Practice: The Longsword Techniques of Fiore dei Liberi.
