Clubs and Dagger v Spear (Fol 31v)

System: Fiore: Longsword

Section: Fiore: Longsword: Zogho Stretto

Source Text and Drawing

This master defends with these two sticks against the lance in this way. That when the one with the lance will be about to enter, the master with his right hand throws the stick to the head of the one with the lance. And immediately with that throw, goes with the other stick to cover the lance, and with his dagger will strike him in the chest, as is drawn here below.

I do what the master before said. If he had known the counter, he would have caused me trouble in this way. He would have raised his hands with your lance under my dagger, and in this way you could have injured me. Have this, because you didn’t know how to do anything.
