Dagger v Sword — 4th Play (Fol 19r)

Section: Fiore: Dagger

Source Text and Drawing

If, to the master who stands in guard with the dagger, he comes with a sword to strike a fendente to the head. He passes forwards and he quickly makes this cover, and gives him a turn pushing the elbow. And this can be done really immediately. Also the sword with its arm he can tie up in the way that the fourth play of the sword in one hand can do. And also in the dagger [section] at the third play you will find this middle lock, that is closed up to within a span of the face.
